Description
  • Railroad tracks were placed for steam engine trains to bring building materials to the School of Medicine, now known as the Davison building. Construction of the School of Medicine was completed in 1930. Some workers or trustees are visible to the left of the tracks. Hospital construction began on September 1, 1927 and was completed on July 1, 1930. Duke Hospital opened for patients on July 21, 1930.
