- This January 22, 1971 issue of Intercom, Duke University Medical Center, contains an article titled "Duke to Offer Bachelor's Degree in Several Health Sciences Fields. The article describes the need for professionally trained health care workers and establishment of degrees to help recruit people into health fields. "A student will not have to be a Duke undergraduate to qualify for entrance into one of the BHS programs, but he will have to meet Duke's general qualifications for transfer students."
