Description
  • This letter sent in 1973 from Fred T. Mahaffey, Executive Director-Secretary of the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP), to an ad hoc advisory committee on physician's assistants [organization unknown] expresses apprehensions that NABP and other pharmacy associations have about PAs dispensing drugs. He encloses several papers by Dr. Sidney Willig dealing with PAs dispensing drugs. Also included is a APhA Policy Committee on Professional Affairs statement excerpted from an unidentified document related to the "prescribing practices of physician's assistants." Their recommendation is that state associations (pharmacy) should either "prohibit it outright or provide for conditions under which the function can be performed."
