- A systematic review search strategy examining the outcomes and complications of VP shunt surgery in pediatric patients (<18 years) with hydrocephalus in the LMICs. The search was developed and conducted by a professional medical librarian in consultation with the team of authors and included a mix of keywords and subject headings representing ventriculoperitoneal shunts, developing countries, and pediatrics. The searches were independently peer-reviewed by another librarian using a modified PRESS Checklist.11 The literature search was performed in five databases: PubMed, EMBASE, Cochrane Library, Web of Science, Global Index Medicus and Google Scholar.
