Description
  • Orgain was a professor of medicine from 1934 to 1975. Together with Mary Poston, a bacteriologist, he published extensively on diagnosis and treatment of endocarditis in the pre-penicillin era. In 1945 he founded Duke's Cardiovascular Disease Service. Orgain was nicknamed "Hotel Harry" by his colleagues because his impeccable clothing style resembled that of a hotel manager.
