Dear Jonah,
I have just written Atala at Scotland but am so afraid it may not reach you. Please come Saturday 11th and stay over Sunday or until Sunday night if you have to be up early Monday. I shall be very disappointed

if you do not - & bring the children if more convenient. I shall love having you all. I am so glad to be at home once more. I have had Campbell Howard here and Dr. MacCallum. I am joining Bob E. & his sister in London tomorrow. Mrs. Emmons remains the same - alive but unconscious - It is too pathetic for
