Description
  • Glen R. Gale using a microscope to study organisms in a laboratory. At age 19, Gale discovered an unnamed organism with remarkable killing powers against dangerous fungi. After graduation from Duke University in 1953 (Ph.D.), Gale went on to serve with the Veterans Affairs Hospital in Durham, N.C., the Dept. of Pathology, and the Dept. of Physiology and Pharmacology.
