| Description |
- Ann Gunn was Duke’s first postgraduate LPN to achieve national certification in operating room technique. A Durham native, she came to Duke in 1964 to receive her LPN training. Gunn then worked on the general surgical unit from 1965-1969. In 1969 she enrolled in Duke’s OR Technique Program and graduated in 1970. In 1972, she passed the national qualifying exam given by the Association of Operating Room Nurses to receive certification as an operating room technician (CORT).
