  • Frank Gregory Hall was a professor of pharmacology and physiology from 1945 to 1966 (emeritus 1966-1967) and chair of the Department of Physiology and Pharmacology from 1949 to 1961. Hall's research interests focused on oxygenation and respiration, and in 1949 he helped to develop Duke's Cardiovascular Teaching and Training Program, now the Cardiovascular Training Program. The F.G. Hall Hypo- and Hyperbaric Center Research Laboratories at Duke University, initially installed in 1963, are named for him. In 1998, the F. G. Hall Laboratory was designated the Center for Hyperbaric Medicine and Environmental Physiology.
