- Correspondence between Gregory Gilreath, President of the American College of Physicians Assistants (formerly known as the Midwest Association of Physician Assistants) explaining the purpose and aims of the College, meetings with the AMA, growth of membership, and insurance benefits for members. First letter in series is not dated but must have been sent in mid-May, 1972. As a founder of the American Registry of Physician's Associates, Howard asked about the "specific criteria by which you determine eligibility for membership in your organization." Gilreath responds that the "schools involved meet both the basic educational requirements of the State and, the Physician's Assistants Programs meet the standards advanced by the American Medical Association."
