- This 3-fold pamphlet was published by the Florida Academy of Physician Assistants in 1980 to introduce patients to the PA concept. It describes the role, training and certification of PAs. The front cover states that the MD/PA team means, "The capabilities of your physician are extended; Your physician is able to spend more time with the seriously ill patient; There can be an increased number of patients served; and The possibility of reduced office and clinic waiting time." The pamphlet lists nine medical organizations including the Florida Medical Association as endorsing the PA concept.
