Description
  • This narrative review examines preoperative optimization strategies for patients with vertebral metastases who are chronic opioid users. Drawing from 23 peer-reviewed articles, the study identifies psychological support, opioid weaning protocols, and palliative care consultation as key interventions to improve surgical readiness and reduce postoperative complications. The findings highlight the need for standardized definitions of chronic opioid use and call for more targeted research in the vertebral metastases population.
