Description
  • In this 10 July 1980 letter to members of the American Association of Surgeon's Assistants, David Bissonette, immediate past president, announces that "After five long years, countless hours and the efforts of several individuals, an examination addressing the proficiency of surgical PAs finally exists. The mechanism to date is not optimal but we must start somewhere." He urges members to take the 1980 examination at a fee of $145. "The response to a surgical examination this year will be held up as evidence of the need for such an examination - a poor turn out for the examination portends no future surgical examinations."
