- This 6 October 1980 memorandum was sent by the NCCPA Board of Directors to PAs who were eligible for recertification letting them know that the "NCCPA will administer its first recertification process by June 1, 1981." A three-year investigation of different devices would be used to determine "the most credible, cost-effective and efficient means for measuring continued competence of PA-0C's." The first step would be for PA-0Cs to sit for the entry-level examination with assurance that there would be "no risk of failure" and that "Any PA-0C taking the examination will automatically be recertified for the following six years." Participation is urged so that "the recertification process will be at least as valid and credible as the entry-level process."
