  • This workbook contains an agenda and materials for a meeting of the Task Force to Draft Essentials of an Approved Educational Program for Physician's Assistants held at the Ambassador West Hotel in Chicago, IL on Friday, May 21, 1971. The meeting was organized by the AMA's Council on Medical Education with Richard O. Cannon, II, MD presiding. The workbook is divided into 7 sections: Participants, fact sheet, development of essentials, standard format, description of the occupation, essential requirements and adoption of essentials. The materials include two non-bound documents typed on the Ambassador Hotels' stationary titled "Educational program may be established in, etc." and "The Physician's Assistant: role, projected activities, and scope of duties."
