Description
  • Parker was a member of the house staff of Duke Hospital from 1946 to 1947. After completing his residency, Parker went into private practice. He returned to Duke University in 1953 as a professor and later became chair of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, serving from 1964 to 1980. Parker served in the United States Navy from 1944 to 1946 at the United States Navy Hospital in Bethesda, MD. He attained the rank of lieutenant commander while serving as chief of obstetrics and gynecology at the United States Navy Hospital in Camp Lejeune, NC.
