  • These summary notes compiled by Thomas R. Godkins and William D. Stanhope, president and secretary of the American Academy of Physicians' Associates, respectively, describe a meeting held with Mr. Gregroy Gilreath, president of the American College of Physician's Assistants. Mr. Gilreath presented the College's bylaws, constitution and addressed the organizations philosophy. The College was formed by graduates of the Surgical Assistant Program at Cincinnati State Jr. College which is affiliated with the Cleveland Clinic. Their members are primarily "surgical, orthopedic and urological assistants." However, the College plans to offer membership to MEDEX and other PA graduates of two-year programs. Mr. Gilreath mentioned that the officers of the College would be interested in "developing some form of merger with the Academy."
