- Correspondence to American College of Surgeon's Subcommittee on Allied Health Personnel dated February 28, 1973 from C. Rollins Hanlon, MD, director of the ACS, noting that the Board of Regents had approved the subcommittee's suggested changes in the Essentials of an Approved Educational Program for the Surgeon's Assistant changing qualifications for candidates for training from a high school graduate to person having completed two years of college or the equivalent. The changes were approved by the Board of Regents of the American College of Surgeons and sent by C. Rollins Hanlon, director of the ACS to Malcolm Todd, Chairman of the AMA Council on Health Manpower dated February 28, 1973 (letter and copy of revised essentials attached to correspondence).
