  • Three articles about PA Educational Programs appeared in this 1972 issue of The Advisor, a newsletter published by Association of American Medical Colleges. Dr. D. Robert Howard's article is titled "The Duke Physician's Associate Program: An Interim Report" and describes the evolution of the program at Duke from "assistant" to "associate" and the development of the Bachelor of Health Sciences degree for graduates. "Physicians' Assistants for the State of Florida" is the title of Dr. Richard A. Henry's article describing the need for PAs and the establishment of a PA Program at the Santa Fe Junior College in Gainesville, FL affiliated with the University of Florida College of Medicine. Dr. Hu C. Myers follows with an article titled "Objectives of Baccalaureate Degree Program for the Physician's Assistant" explaining the need for PAs and the reasonableness for establishing a baccalaureate program at Alderson-Broaddus College, Philippi, WV for this purpose.
