Description
  • Correspondence from Committee on Type-A Professional Dialectics to Dr. Robert E. Reiheld, Chairman of the AMA Council on Rural Health, dated February 10, 1974. Four individuals co-signed the letter for a committee created by "practicing Duke-prototype Type-A Physician Assistants subsequent to developments over the past two years which will ultimately affect the quality of health care delivery and our professional viability." The letter was written to express concern and request the AMA to "withhold certification of any individual as a Type-A Physician Assistant on the basis of passing the December 12, 1973 examination." The Committee felt that the examination was "insufficient in quality, content and depth to provide elimination of individuals with less than minimal clinical acumen from gaining access to the title Physician Assistant Type-A."
