The article describes the rapid growth of the PA Program at Duke and the growing interest in the PA concept. Robert Howard, MD, program director states that "The Physician's Assistant Program is one of the hottest things in medical education today." The enrollment has been increased to 40 students per class, plans are underway to offer a bachelor's degree to graduates, applications surpass available positions and jobs are plentiful.
