  • Minutes of the March 29, 1974 annual meeting of the Association of Physician Assistant Programs. Dr. Thomas Piemme was president and recounted progress that the Association had made in past year to: (1) open new office in Washington, DC with Donald Fisher, Ph.D., Executive Director; (2) gaining tax exempt status from IRS; (3) successful semiannual meeting held with AAMC; (4) attempts to be represented on the AMA's Joint Review Committee for accreditation; (5) National Board Examination eligibility requirements; (6) developing a National Commission of Certification of Physician Assistants; (7) white paper on program requirements (8) planning for national conferences; (9) proposed reimbursement study through HEW and (10) job placement through the Medex Communications System and national office. A list of individuals attending the meeting organized by institutional affiliations is attached to the minutes.
