Description
  • This statement was presented by Thomas R. Godkins, immediate past president of the American Academy of Physician's Assistants, to the Subcommittee on Health of the Committee on Ways and Means, U.S. House of Representatives on January 28, 1977. He presents some myths and misconceptions about the PA concept and then makes a recommendation that in rural clinics PA services be reimbursed "at the usual and customary rates of reimbursement." He asked that the term physician assistant be used rather than physician extender. The bill being considered was HR2504 introduced by Mr. Rostenkowski on January 26, 1977.
