Description
  • This article from the July 1972 issue of Dallas Medical Journal reports study conducted by School of Allied Health Professions of the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School at Dallas, to determine if physicians in 21 counties of north-central Texas supported delegation of AMA identified tasks to PAs, and if so to what extent. The article reports on a subset of physicians who practice in Dallas County. The conclusion was that of the members of the Dallas County Medical Society who responded, 67% approved, 22 % disapproved and 11% were undecided about tasks to be delegated to PAs. It appeared that "local physicians -- support the concept of the PA performing specific tasks under supervision."
