- Newsletter issued in February 1974 announcing the hiring of Donald Fisher, Ph.D., as the Executive Director of the Academy and Association and planned opening of a joint national office in May 1974. In order for the Academy to receive foundation support for the office, they will need to seek 501(c) (3) exempt tax status from the IRA. An attorney, E. Michael Paturis was hired to help amend by-laws to conform with necessary organizational standards. The membership was noted as including 44 student chapters with 938 student members and 630 graduates. A national review session was held by the Academy with 360 candidates attending, netting $1,000 for the Academy. The next annual meeting was announced to be held in New Orleans, LA at the Monteleone Hotel.
