- In his 21 February 1974 letter, Thomas Godkins, chair of the AAPA Goals and Priorities Committee, asks Dr. Richard Rosen to remain on the AAPA's Board of Advisors. Godkin notes that "We have gone through a tremendous growth phase, have won many battles, and have many battles yet to fight. As your are well aware the Academy has been invited to join the AMA's Joint Review Committee as a participating member, came away a winner with five seats on the Proposed National Commission for Certification of Physician's Assistants, and most importantly I think recognized as 'the' organization for physician's assistants in this country." Dr. Rosen responds 4 March 1974 with "My general inclination is to remain on the Board of Advisors as long as my services and advice are useful, and my attendance is productive."
