Description	The Ad Hoc Committee report classified physician assistants according to the degree of specialization, level of clinical decision-making (judgment) and length of training. These types "are distinguished primarily by the nature of the service each is best equipped to render by virtue of the depth and breadth of their medical knowledge and experience." Accordingly, PAs are classified as Type A, Type B and Type C assistants.
