Duke Midwifery Service and Durham Maternal Health Oral History Project
User Collection PublicThe Duke University Medical Center Archives (DUMCA) in partnership with colleagues from the History of Medicine Collections at the Rubenstein Library and the local oral historian community received funding from the Josiah Charles Trent Memorial Foundation Endowment Fund Grant from the Spring Cycle cycle to document the history of maternal health in Durham through oral history interviews with members of the Durham midwifery community. These interviews provide first-hand accounts of the history of the Duke Midwifery Service, social and institutional relationships between Duke and Durham, and maternal health.
