Duke Department of Ophthalmology

The Duke Department of Ophthalmology, also known as the Duke Eye Center, is an internationally-renowned academic medical institution dedicated to curing eye disease worldwide though excellence in research, education, and patient care. Specializing in all areas of ophthalmology, it is a top ranked program by the US News and World Report Best Hospitals survey since the survey began.

The Duke Department of Ophthalmology is made up of nine divisions, offering every sub-specialty in ophthalmology: Comprehensive; Cornea, External Disease and Refractive Surgery; Glaucoma; Neuro-Ophthalmology; Ocular Oncology; Oculofacial and Orbital Surgery; Pediatric Ophthalmology; Vitreoretinal; and Vision Rehabilitation and Performance. Each division consists of faculty physicians and many include investigators. Often times, faculty collaborate across Duke University and the School of Medicine for patient care and research initiatives.
