This is the minutes of the first AAPA/NCCPA Liaison Committee held Oct 9, 1979 at the Atlanta Hilton Hotel, Atlanta, GA. The committee was chaired by Alfred Sadler, Jr., MD. The basic charge to the committee was "to enhance communication between AAPA and NCCPA, to recommend areas of cooperative effort between the two organizations, and to provide an early warning system for potential problems." Data collection strategies, PA's sense of threat of recertification, poor communication with constituents about procedures, NCCPA financing and spending justifications and candidate eligibility issues were discussed.
